About
Kinomichi is the form of Aïkido, a traditional Japanese martial art, envisioned and developed by Masamichi Noro Sensei. Movements it relies on favour the circulation of energy and a careful development of the body. Though techniques used are the same as in Aïkido, emphasis is put on spiral movements and contact in an ample use of the space and it integrates the approach of somatic practices such as Feldenkrais, Anti-Gymnastics or Qigong for improved flexibility and a strengthened energy. These concepts are applied through contact with a partner, in a spirit of cooperation and mutual benefit. One can see it as a form of dynamic meditation through fluid movements.
